It came up again on the show today, about the idea of AI and the idea of fragmenting culture. I think our monoculture is already lying in waste because the artists only care about the tiniest minorities instead of average people, and average people care more about convenience than quality. Laziness is among the most natural human instincts. Hollywood and other corporate entertainment has earned the hatred leveled against them by making ideological reprogramming the goal of their media instead of art.
I basically don't even watch western TV or movies anymore because the plots of almost everything is retarded, the films are all $300 million greenscreen slop filmed with no script and edited for a year by an animator sweatshop, the characters are inconsistent and the actors all hate every normal man. I barely see any difference between that and AI, there's no love lost.
As someone who likes to make art myself, I don't believe art has inherent value just because someone makes it, or at least not any more than a wall or a ditch or a field does. Artists have to make mountains of shit on their own before they can expect to make a single work that moves someone. They act as though they're entitled to success on their project because they work at some big studio. These corporate artists and writers were perfectly happy to shit all over laborers and service jobs when automation was coming for normal workers, but now that it is hitting them they think they get some kind of special consideration.
If they didn't want the scorn of the masses they shouldn't have acted as though they are better than everyone else. Either make premium work that stands the test of time or put the fries in the bag.
Mainly just a rant I guess, but I'm tired of entitled fucking people man. Discussion welcome.
