Who Are You?
"Just an guy (or ""Normal Man"" if you'd prefer) that likes video games and anime and cats (especially mine, as seen in my profile pic here). I tend to gravitate towards the more obscure and interesting stuff over safe/samey mainstream slop. I am vehemently against all monetization in games other than paying for a copy up-front once; games that want money in any other way are ones I avoid - so absolutely no live service games, MMOs, or basically anything multiplayer-focused. That definitely limits what I play in terms of modern games, but I really don't think I'm missing much by taking that stance.
I've been on the internet forever, but didn't post a whole lot (although I still have some of the oldest reviews and FAQs for a few Sega Genesis titles up on GameFAQs under an old name) and stopped completely for a long time following the rise of the big all-encompassing social media websites because I wanted nothing to do with them. I'm a very private individual and don't want to broadcast anything about myself to the whole world at large for literally anybody on earth to scrutinize. I do like smaller communities, forums, etc. though, hence why I do make semi-regular posts here on Plus and I am moderately active in the foxucord."

Is there anything you would like to say to us (Side Scrollers)?
"Been enjoying the show, nice seeing Craig again after several years (recognized him from ScrewAttack) and I've come to like Blabs and a lot of the regular guests (especially Kirsche as you can see from the pic I attached) too. Very chill, feels like just a few friends hanging out and discussing stuff - the conversations sometimes go in unexpected directions and that's just part of the fun.
Never joined anything like SS+ before, but it's been fun. I've enjoyed a lot of the exclusives, the community is friendly, and I never really thought I'd start posting gameplay videos and leaving impressions of games on a forum like this. I try to stick to obscure retro and indie games and neat oddities like new PC ports of old classics or romhacks that really do something new with a game. I'm not really aspiring to be a content creator (I'm an old software engineer - I want to design/build tools that help improve people's lives and not deal with any drama), but it is nice to spread the word about cool stuff and I feel like it provides a nice contrast to some of the darker stories and all the BS threatening to destroy the mainstream games industry and society as a whole.
Keep up the great work, but don't get too caught up chasing money and views - steadily growing a base of dedicated fans is more important than bringing in big numbers of casuals that come and go if you want this thing to exist and be profitable for many years to come. ""Do the right thing, always"" - per a certain old guy who made that his catchphrase. It's good to grow and bring in more cash, but don't do it at the expense of losing sight of who you are and where you came from."
