Who Are You?
I'm just this guy, you know? Anyways, I grew up in the middle of nowhere, and not terribly wealthy. Nothing but farm land for miles around, so not many interesting places to visit without driving for hours (and then realizing you have to drive just as much to get home.) There was no way my family was going to travel anywhere for vacations, so books and games were how I filled that gap. I'm the sort of person that wants to help out or otherwise give back when someone does something for me. Since games helped me get through my younger years, I chose to learn programming when I went to college, to hopefully make stuff as good or better than what I used to play. Unfortunately, the school I went to felt that making video games "isn't a real career path," and I've never met the right folks to get anywhere, or had enough resources to just do everything myself.
How did you hear about Side Scrollers?
The Algorithm miraculously suggested something worth watching a while ago. It started with some Craig makes Blabs look up something horrifying, and then some of the single stories chopped out of the podcast. Now I just watch the podcast live.
What is your favorite video game of all time?
Time has not ended yet, so I cannot say for sure. I like so many types of game, I don't really have one favorite.
What video game have you put the most amount of hours in?
Probably the original .hack series. I tried not to use guides, so there was a lot of random searching to complete item/monster lists
What video game have you spent the most amount of money on?
Either the .hack series again (I was late to the party and had to search ebay to find them) or StarCraft II, because I preoreded the collectors editions to get the soundtracks.
Who is your favorite villain (in any video game)?
To fight? Mother Brain in Super Metroid. As a concept? The Shivans in the Freespace games. They're so alien, there's never any meaningful communication, so you never really learn their goals or values.
Who is your video game crush?
Good question. Haven't really thought about it. I guess I just appreciate all the women that support or show some appreciation to the protagonists.
Are there any video game you are just terrible at?
I never really got into sports games or fighting games.
In which video game world would you want to live in?
Too many of them, honestly. Space travel would be cool. Magic also has it's appeal.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
Again, time hasn't ended yet. At the moment, it's a close race between The Sting, Sneakers, and The Last Samurai.
If you HAD to go on a road trip with Superman, OR Batman, who would you pick?
Batman
Nickelback Or Linkin Park?
Linkin Park
Which is your preferred gaming company?
PlayStation
What color would your lightsaber be?
Dual weild, one blue, one purple.
The Shire or Narnia?
Shire
