Who Are You?
Hey, my name is █████████, but you may know me as Aramis or Aramis0405, from a small town, █████████, inland of the archipelago of Puerto Rico. I'm a normal-ish single man in his mid-30s with a love for all forms of entertainment and art. I've been lucky enough to have lived and experienced more in my short life than many have in half of their lifetime.

Growing up relatively alone, and since humans are social creatures, I grew attached to books, which later transitioned to video games and movies. I wouldn't consider myself a "pro gamer", but video games have been a part of my life in one form or another since my earliest memories.

I also enjoy camping, cooking, supporting local businesses, walking in forests, and taking cat naps on my hammock. When I’m not relaxing, I’m usually fixing things around the house, tending the land and garden, or keeping my body in check with some military training from before, three to four days a week.

How did you hear about Side Scrollers?
Around late May 2024, I was searching for more information about BioWare's abomination The Veilguard when, while finishing a Vara Dark video, I noticed a thumbnail in the suggested videos. It had this man with piercing green eyes staring into my soul, with a bold caption about the game.

Curiosity won, and down the rabbit hole I went like many others. I got instantly hooked by Craig’s sharp wit, Blabs’ charming smile, and the overall chaos their guests bring to the table. Found myself laughing after a long time.

What is your favorite video game of all time?
Well, according to the cold hard data from my PC: Dragon Age: Origins – 1,535 hours Total War: Warhammer II – 1,102 hours Alpha Protocol – 667 hours Wartales – 784 hours Crusader Kings III – 892 hours

What video game have you put the most amount of hours in?
Dragon Age: Origins. I've clocked in 1,535 hours across 16 full playthroughs, trying every origin story — male and female — and experimenting with as many variations in choices, party builds, and outcomes as I could uncover. Mechanically, it's a brilliant hybrid of tactical pause-and-play combat, deep party management, and narrative agency. The origin system alone makes replaying feel fresh, and the weight of your decisions keeps things intense. I’ve always enjoyed the dark fantasy atmosphere — grounded, grim, and full of consequence.

What video game have you spent the most amount of money on?
Definitely all the games under Paradox Interactive Studios — Stellaris, Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, Age of Wonders III, and more. Between base games, expansions, DLCs, and the occasional bundle, I’ve probably helped fund someone’s entire education over there — post-grad and all.

Who is your favorite villain (in any video game)?
Probably Navaros from Drakan: The Ancients' Gates on PS2. Something about that classic looming evil — a warlock trying to break through ancient seals and return with world-ending magic — really hit all the right fantasy notes for me. The game was pure high fantasy nostalgia for me, and, well, I have a thing for redheads.

Who is your video game crush?
Morrigan and Leliana from Dragon Age, Yennefer and Triss from The Witcher series, and bonus: Sera from Inquisition — her quirky, chaotic view of life was just fun and endearing.

Are there any video game you are just terrible at?
Anything PvP, online, or MMO. I needed games I could pause to put out fires — literally and figuratively — so I never invested myself in those genres.

In which video game world would you want to live in?
Either Albion from Fable for its rustic charm and cheeky magic, or Middle-earth — especially the Shire or Rivendell. Peaceful, ancient, and full of wonder.

What is your favorite movie of all time?
Moonrise Kingdom, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Fantastic Mr. Fox, or The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I could watch any of them at any time — they’re timeless in their own way. Bonus: Porco Rosso by Studio Ghibli. (Don’t ask.)

If you HAD to go on a road trip with Superman, OR Batman, who would you pick?
Batman

Nickelback Or Linkin Park?
Neither

Which is your preferred gaming company?
I Hate Them All.

What color would your lightsaber be?
I’ve always walked the path of the Sith — Darth Nix, Lord Sith Sorcerer. Power, knowledge, and will made manifest. (As per what Star Wars:The Old Republic have provided)

The Shire or Narnia?
Shire

Is there anything you would like to say to us (Side Scrollers)?
"Craig – Keep holding the line. The voice of reason is rarer than ever. And if I may offer a slight suggestion: I know you've got a dozen big plans on your mind — don't let yourself be overwhelmed. If you have to pin something for later, it’s okay. Time may be limited, but it’s not something we can control. You're making wonders, my friend.

Blabs – Your untethered point of you and your uniqueness brings a charm to Side Scrollers that'simpossibleto replicate, not to mention your efficiency and sharp work ethic behind the scenes. To some how you express yourself outwardly and how you view life could be seen as it’s distracting, not that I’m complaining. Thank you for being you.

Phoenix – The wizard behind the curtain and the guy you want around for drinks after the show. Keep conjuring the good stuff, truly a master of presentation. I'm sure there is a story behind the lights and the colors but I at least am thankful it has brought you to where you are now. Always wishing the best, bud.

Sam – Welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing your touch on the socials — make some noise and make it yours."

Blabs at Buc-ee’s
A Love Story in Pulled Pork and Pecan Dreams

We never meant for today to turn into a full-blown pilgrimage. Originally, we planned a livestream. Buc-ee’s would be the backdrop — oversized snacks, perfectly arranged brisket burritos, and the distinct scent of gasoline and nostalgia in the air. But, somewhere between idea and execution, we said “nah.”

Instead, we lived it.

Before we even stepped through Buc-ee’s automatic doors, we were greeted by a fan — a small but energizing reminder that what we do matters to people. And then, with the kind of anticipation you normally reserve for concerts or Christmas mornings, Blabs declared her one true goal: eat.

The Quest for Meat (and Meaning)

Blabs, already vibrating with excitement, stood before the sandwich counter like a worshipper at an altar. Her hands jazzed, clasped, fluttered, pointed. The Big Buckin’ Brisket Sandwich was tempting, but the Carolina Pulled Pork stole her soul. She literally hugged the sign.

“Ohhh, maybe I’ll get both,” she mused. “I’m getting fat-ass today.”

A bold declaration. A Buc-ee’s declaration.

She danced toward the bakery. Oatmeal raisin cookies, massive cinnamon rolls, muffins the size of small dogs — she surveyed them all like a war general planning a sweet invasion. Meanwhile, I was struggling with my own indecision. Chicken and fries? A burrito? Brisket? Cheesesteak? It was a battlefield of carbs and smoked meats.

Eventually, I landed on the pulled pork. Blabs did too. And just like that, we made our way out to the car — two champions, two sandwiches, no napkins.

The Sandwich Seen ‘Round the World

We forgot drinks. That was mistake number one. Mistake number two was thinking I’d get the first bite in before Blabs.

Because by the time I opened my sandwich wrapper, she was halfway done. I've never seen anyone eat a barbecue sandwich with such speed, such joy, such… grace? Is that the word? Probably not. But impressive? Hell yes.

She danced with every bite. She hoovered. She transcended. “It’s so freaking good, bro,” she managed between mouthfuls.

It wasn’t just eating. It was a performance.

When the last bite vanished, she leaned back, fully satisfied, glowing like someone who just achieved true peace. Ten out of ten. Would eat again. Probably twice today.

Meanwhile, I was still on bite one.

Return to Buc-ee’s: The Reckoning

But we weren’t done. Oh no. You can’t just leave Buc-ee’s after one round. We went back in, like hobbits returning to Mordor — except instead of a cursed ring, we were chasing pecans and Rice Krispie Treats.

Blabs wandered through the store like she was in a trance. Candies. Drinks. Nuts. Bakery goods. That glazed pecan display practically called to her by name. She considered everything and then some: peppered turkey strips, oatmeal raisin cookies (again), fudge, Rice Krispie Treats the size of VHS tapes. She caved. She grabbed a cart.

Women be shopping. Yes, even at Buc-ee’s.

There was a moment of existential crisis near the fudge. A penny press nearly brought her to tears of joy. She packed pennies. This was not her first Buc-ee’s rodeo.

At one point, we passed a teenage influencer loudly proclaiming to his 12 followers, “THIS is Buc-ee’s.” Blabs side-eyed him while gripping her peppered turkey like a survivalist. She wasn’t here to post. She was here to consume.

Farewell to the Temple of Snacks

At checkout, the final damage: $39.16. Worth every penny.

She debated adding more beaver nuggets but showed rare restraint. As we walked out, the Texas heat hit like a wave, and the sadness set in. The doors whooshed shut behind her — the gates of Valhalla, closing. There was a look in her eyes. The look of someone who’d found love… and had to leave it behind.

In her bag: one brisket burrito, to be savored across the next few nights like a squirrel rationing acorns. In her heart: memories of pulled pork perfection.

And maybe — just maybe — we bring the King of the Couch crew here next time. An army of content creators, united under the Buc-ee’s banner, battling it out, fueled by brisket and joy.

Until then, we live with the memory. And Blabs? She’ll dream of that sandwich.
